i once visited maribor , it was pretty good but the only thing i didnt like was that i couldnt stay there more , the people are extremely nice and the staff at the hotel were really friendly

I visited Slovenia myself once and can confirm that it is a beautiful country that has everything to offer, from mountains (including impressive caves and gorges) to the sea with wonderful sandy beaches. One thing that surprised me and wasn't mentioned in this video was that not only do a lot of people speak English, which is quite rare in an Eastern European country, but to my great surprise, a huge number of people also spoke German. And not just a little bit, but a really almost perfect German, the likes of which I have personally never experienced outside of the German-speaking area. By the way: unfortunately, this unexpected fact has deprived the Slovenians of the (in my case probably not so sweet) "accent" :-D I was really willing and prepared and, as always when I visit another country, I brought my little dictionary with me so that I could at least order a roll or a beer in the local language, but... Unfortunately, even these basics were too difficult for me, and the Slovenians in turn surprised me with their surprising language skills.

As a Russian I'm not so surprised but I love how Slovenian sounds ;)
